What are your plans for Mother’s Day this year? Before we moved to NYC, I’d spend the day gardening with my mom every Mother’s Day. Now that we live a few hours away, I like to send her a cheerful bouquet of flowers for her dining table. If you’re looking for ideas to celebrate the mothers and mother figures in your lives on May 14th, here are 11 fun gifts…
A family photo book, from $20. There are so many great services out there for making photo books. I’ve used Artifact Uprising, Shutterfly, and Pinhole Press before. Also, we started using the app FamilyAlbum when our daughter was born, and they have a feature that automatically creates a photo book for you using the photos you upload each month. You can make any edits before placing your order, which is a nice option if you’re looking for something quick and easy. I’ve heard good things about Chatbooks too.
A gorgeous set of handmade wooden candlestick holders, $58, and a pair of beeswax taper candles, $15, for her bedside table. I also love these holders, $41.
An extra large canvas tote, from $33, for everything from lazy beach days to casual overnights. I have this in extra large with a zip top and long handles, and I love it — the quality is so good. (This green gingham one is cute too.)
Chocolate bars, $36 for a 6-pack, to throw in her bag for a treat while out on adventures.
The most comfortable slides, $60. I recently got these OOFOS slides to wear around the house, and they’re the most comfortable slides I’ve ever owned.
A beautiful gardening book, $23, to help her grow stunning seasonal blooms.
Embroidery kit, $20, for the crafty mom. My mom is currently working on the Starry Night kit.
Vintage-inspired bakeware, from $19. I’d love to invite my mom over for dinner and make one of her favorite home-cooked meals in these beautiful ceramic dishes. Then, after a quick scrub, send them home with her. They’re so pretty that she can even leave them on display when not in use.
Dainty initial ring, from $19, for a sweet reminder. If she’s not a jewelry person, how about this fun MAMA hat?
A jigsaw puzzle, $22, to work on on rainy days.
A long FaceTime/A chatty walk around the neighborhood/A stoop hang, $priceless :)

So many beautiful gift ideas for mom on Mother’s Day. My favorite ideas are the gardening books and the jigsaw puzzle. Also, if possible just spending time with her on Mother’s Day if possible means so much. Having lost my mom several years ago, I would give anything to spend one more day with her.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Karen. I hope your memories with your mom bring you some comfort this Mother’s Day xoxo
I enjoy looking at gift guides because there are some really cool gift ideas that I would never be able to think up on my own! Thanks for sharing!
Same!
I’m loving all your picks! I’d love to have the canvas bag and get my hands on those chocolates haha.
Thanks, Elise! The canvas bag is so good — I def recommend it!
