Dan and I are slowly working our way through all of the restaurants in Park Slope, and a few weeks ago we got a tip from some friends to check out the Colombian-inspired restaurant Bogota on 5th Avenue. Have you been?
We love Botogta’s lively atmosphere and bright decor. If you have guests in town and you’re looking for a casual, fun dinner spot, this is it. We also love Bogota for date night; it’s now one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood.
The first time we went to Bogota, our server told us that their goat cheese empanadas are one of the most popular items on their menu, so we got the sampler empanadas. If you like empanadas, these are very tasty. My three favorites are chicken, vegetable, and goat cheese. I also got the spinach and mushroom quesadilla, which was great, and the guacamole appetizer was also tasty.
They serve salty plantain chips with a tangy, sweet dipping sauce before dinner. Yum!
My go-to drink at Bogota is their margarita. The classic is delicious, and they also have a bunch of tropical flavors too.
Tip: For brunch, try their Bloody Mary — the star of their brunch drink menu — and sit out on the patio for a fun afternoon outing.
If you have any restaurant recommendations in Park Slope (or anywhere in NYC) — I’d love to hear them!
