On Monday, Everlane’s first pant collection launched on their website, and they nailed it. Partnering with a Hong Kong-based and family owned and operated factory, Everlane developed two new womens’ trousers. The Slouchy Trouser has a relaxed fit and two front pleats and slant pockets, and The Slim Trouser is a classic, tailored fit with two front slant pockets and side vents at the leg opening. Both styles feel sexy and tomboyish, and they could easily transition from a day at the office with loafers to date night with sexy heels.
Everlane is a company known for doing things differently. “Radical Transparency. Know your factories. Know your costs. Always ask why.” They want their consumers to make informed decisions, and they take actions to ensure their own labor practices and costs are known. It’s completely refreshing and something I hope more companies adopt. In addition to transparency, Everlane photographed real women wearing their new trousers to help answer the sometimes daunting question, “What size should I wear?”
THANK YOU, Everlane. Seriously.
What do you think? The black slouchy trouser is on my wish list along with their Twill Weekender, which is the perfect size for a weekend getaway.
PS. More loafers.
