At the end of March, The New York Times hosted a Haiku challenge and asked readers to submit Haiku related to these six NYC subjects: the island, strangers, solitude, commuting, 6 a.m., and kindness. The challenge, to celebrate National Poetry Month, received more than 2,800 submissions in 10 days! What a fun idea!
