You guys, we’re almost done with January! How was your month? It usually feels like January drags on for me, but this year, I felt like it went by fast. Anyone else? As we kick off not just a new year but a new decade as well, I’d love to know what you’re looking forward to this year.
For me, the past year — my sixth year in NYC — has been a whirlwind. From training for my third marathon to surviving my third year being self-employed, there were ups and downs and everything between. To say I’m ready for 2020 is an understatement. Here are a few things I’m looking forward to this year…
A New Apartment. We love lots of things about our current Brooklyn apartment, but it’s a small studio — about 375-square feet. We’ve been dreaming about a bigger space for a while and would love to find a one-bedroom in our neighborhood.
Summer Weekends. I love lazy summer weekends in NYC. The park with friends, riding bikes down the streets of Brooklyn, taking the ferry out to the Rockaways — I’m looking forward to all of it!
Happily K. One of my favorite things about writing this blog is exploring stories and discovering all the cool, quirky things that the internet has to offer and (of course) sharing them with you. I’m beyond excited to get reacquainted with this site and the blogging community.
What are you looking forward to this year? Any trips planned? Are you moving to a new city? Working toward a big goal?
PS. A past New Year’s Resolution.

My fiancé and I are adopting a dog this year (hopefully in Feb/March)! We both grew up with dogs and have been thinking about getting our own for too long…but we both agree now is the time to just do it already!
PS. Welcome back to the blogosphere! :)
That’s so exciting, Kristen! We’re also hoping to get a dog this year — fingers crossed!
– More yoga
– More books (looking for recs if anyone has any to share)
– More “me time”
Yes to all of these, Maria!
I’ve been trying to brush up on my Spanish for years (I was *almost* fluent in high school) – this year I’m actually going to do it! I’m starting with the Duolingo app and I might also take a class later this year.
Looking forward to more of your writing as well – welcome back!
Love this, Brooke! Curious to hear what you think of Duolingo once you get started. xx
Looking forward to buying a house this year!
