We’ve talked about true-crime stories like Serial (can’t wait for season two!) and The Jinx before, but this December, Netflix is joining the ranks and releasing a true-crime documentary called Making a Murderer. The 10-episode series, directed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, will cover the life of Steven Avery, a man who served 18 years for a crime but was later exonerated by DNA evidence. What’s most shocking about Avery’s story: after his release he became a suspect in a new murder case and was sentenced to life in prison in 2005.
Ricciardi and Demos, who spent the last decade following the story, said in the press release, “If we had not been there to witness these events we would have trouble believing they actually occurred.”
Thoughts? Will you watch it?
