On Tuesday, the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade marched up 5th Avenue for the 254th time! March 17, 1762 was the first St. Patrick’s Day Parade in NYC, and it’s the country’s oldest Irish tradition. Here are a few pictures, if you’d like to see…
Hundreds of marchers wore beautiful traditional wool sweaters and caps like this adorable family. So sweet! Doesn’t the mom look chic with that wool cape?
There was a group from Londonderry, NH marching!
Have you been to the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade before? Despite it being super windy, it was so fun to see all the tradition Irish attire and hear the bagpipes. Also, this was the first year that openly gay group, OUT@NBCUniversal, marched in the parade. The organizers allowed the group to participate this year after pressure last year regarding restrictions on gay and lesbian Irish groups. Well done, NYC!
This looks like it was so much fun… I love the pipes!
The parade looks great this year! Love those white wool sweaters, so classy and cute!
