We’ve had a few people ask about our new apartment, so I thought I’d share some pictures. Since we’re still settling in (even though we’ve been here almost three weeks-yikes!), here are some ‘before’ pictures and I hope to have a few ‘after’ pictures to share soon.
The first photo is of the combined kitchen and living room space. It’s a small room but the ceiling is high and the room is bright. The red island is a piece that we bought a few years ago when we lived on Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire. It’s so useful for extra storage and counter space and creates a little breakfast bar/hang out area — great when guests are over.
We’re on the second floor so we don’t have a view, but just outside the kitchen window is a red brick building with the prettiest ivy growing all over it.
Here’s the BIG bedroom. We brought a queen-sized bed, but this room could easily fit a king mattress. We look directly across a teeny, bare courtyard at the building next to us, which isn’t great. But the size of the room is so convenient and will be great when family and friends are in town visiting. Also, there are two huge closets — another big plus!
I’ve been doing a little decorating, but we still need a few more pieces to make the space feel cozy (like a couch). We’ve been scouring Craigslist, and hopefully, we’ll find a steal soon. I’ll keep you posted and until then you might be seeing some apartment decor inspiration here on the blog.
Happy Monday!
