Each year, Pantone introduces a Color of the Year, and this year’s color is Marsala, a rich, earthy, and warm color named for a fortified wine made in Sicily. Do you like it? This hue is more aligned with colors I like than the vibrant, bright colors of years past including: Radiant Orchid, Emerald, Tangerine Tango, and Honeysuckle. I gravitate towards neutrals and earthy tones with an occasional pop of color, and I think Marsala would be a beautiful compliment to many neutral tones. It would also be fun to use as an accent color in our apartment. We would never worry about spilling red wine on a Marsala colored couch ; )
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said, “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.”
Would you wear lipstick, mascara or nail polish inspired by the Color of the Year? I love the nail polish and the mascara would be fun!
