Last weekend, Dan and I spent a few days in Seaside Heights, New Jersey seeing friends and soaking up some beach time. I wish I could teleport back to the hot, sandy beach — weekends should be more than two days. Here are a few pictures from our weekend…
After Dan got out of work Friday night, we met at Port Authority in Manhattan and caught a bus to Tom River, NJ. The bus ride is only about an hour and a half, which makes it easy for a weekend trip.
Our friend Johnny has friends who own a cute house in Seaside Heights, and we were lucky enough to stay with them for a couple nights. One thing that surprised me about Seaside Heights was all the color. The Boardwalk had colorful ice cream parlors, pizza places, clothing stores, games, and rides. There was also a mini golf course and a SkyRide (chairlift ride). I loved how colorful the buildings and storefronts were along the Boardwalk — such a fun place to take pictures.
We spent Saturday afternoon at Seaside Park Beach. The rivers in Manhattan can be pretty gross, which makes me skeptical of the oceans nearby, but this beach and the water were very clean. I didn’t do much swimming though, because it was too cold for me — I’m a wimp about cold water. But the guys were in for a while, and they threw the football around in the waves for hours.
On Sunday, we packed up and headed back to Manhattan. We decided to give the train a try on our way back since traffic on the weekends can be miserable getting back into the city, especially during the summer. The train ride was about two hours from Pleasant Point, NJ to Penn Station in Manhattan — so easy.
Anyway, hope you all had a good weekend, and thanks for reading! xo
Beautiful pictures and amazing colors! This is what summer is all about…turquoise, coral, lemon yellow…sprinkled with jimmies! These photos matted and framed would make an amazing collection in a sunroom or a patio!
Love that idea!!
