One way I’m focusing on supporting the Black community is to shop at Black-owned businesses. The Fifteen Percent Pledge was initially conceived to mobilize “large multi-brand retailers to grow their share of shelf-space dedicated to Black-owned businesses,” but we as individuals can apply the spirit of this pledge to our own purchasing behaviors.
To that end, I recently learned about See In Black, a new collective of Black photographers, who curated Back In America, a collection of 80 photographs that are available to purchase as prints. Through July 3rd, 100% of profits are funding causes that align with the Collective’s vision of Black prosperity. The photographs are stunning. Here are some that caught my eye…
