See In Black: A Collective of Black Photographers

June 23, 2020September 13, 2020 Kelley Leave a comment

One way I’m focusing on supporting the Black community is to shop at Black-owned businesses. The Fifteen Percent Pledge was initially conceived to mobilize “large multi-brand retailers to grow their share of shelf-space dedicated to Black-owned businesses,” but we as individuals can apply the spirit of this pledge to our own purchasing behaviors.

To that end, I recently learned about See In Black, a new collective of Black photographers, who curated Back In America, a collection of 80 photographs that are available to purchase as prints. Through July 3rd, 100% of profits are funding causes that align with the Collective’s vision of Black prosperity. The photographs are stunning. Here are some that caught my eye…

By Deun Ivory
By Bobby Rogers
By Obidigbo-Nzeribe
By Adrian Octavius-Walker
By Andre L. Perry
By Samuel Trotter

Check out the entire collection and read more about See In Black’s mission here.
