How fun is this set of weekday matchbooks by the Ohio Match Company? The set was created in 1972 and each day of the week is set in a different typeface. My favorite one is Sunday, which is set in Gill Kayo, and I also love Friday. Here’s the rest of the set…
Monday is set in ATF Stencil.
Tuesday is in ITC Grouch.
Wednesday is Buxom.
Thursday is Egyptienne Bold Extended.
Friday is set in Futura Prisma.
And Saturday is set in Futura Black.
Which one is your favorite? I’d love to frame the whole set and hang it in a gallery wall.
PS. Pretty matchboxes and cute reusable tote bags.

I like the Sunday one best! Let’s get some!
Tuesday is my fave!
I inherited my grandfathers matchbook collection… so many gems – especially from Hawaii and Panama…. I need to find a clever way to display them!
What a fun collection to receive from your grandfather, Meg! I’d love to see them on display someday!
Awwww I wish you would’ve shown the backs as well because they each had a funny little word or slogan that is associated with that day of the week. I remember a couple of them; Sunday/never on, Monday/Blue, Friday /TGIF Saturday/bath day
Oh, that’s so cool!! I didn’t know about the sayings on the back. I wish I could find a set to buy — they’re so fun!
